VICENTE ENGONGA MATE WAS THE FIRST BLACK PLAYER TO PLAY FOR THE SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM. HE HAD HIS DEBUT ON 23-9-1998 IN A 1-0 WIN AGAINST RUSSIA.

As there's a pretty long connection between Portugal and Brazil there will always have been more or less black players in the team. @ Laura R: Freddy Adu didn't play for Portugal at all and even if he did... he's born in 1989, when famous and pretty black Eusebio ended his great career by far.
